Material: 22ct gold plated 100% recycled silver (using a process called vermeil for a long lasting finish).

~ Social Impact ~

The Freedom T-Bar Chain has been carefully crafted by a small team of marginalised artisans displaced from West Bengal, who have found sustainable livelihoods through their skill in making beautiful pieces like these.

They are proudly certified by the World Fair Trade Organisation.

Each piece comes packaged in a soft organic pouch, which has been lovingly made by some of Jaipur’s most vulnerable women, who are bettering their lives through the income from the block printing, tassel making and stitching of these very pouches. No two are the same, each one beautiful in its imperfections.

~ Planet Friendly Packaging ~

Packaging is mindfully thought through to be kind to the planet, with tree-free recycled cotton paper care tags, compostable tissue paper and a recyclable eco postal box. Even our embossed stickers are wood-free and completely biodegradable.

To help keep your jewellery looking lovely, each piece comes with a soft branded jewellery cloth.

~ Hallmark ~

All Loft & Daughter base metals are sterling silver and marked with a 925 stamp. Pieces over 7.78g are tested & hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office to assure the purity of the metals used. This piece has been hallmarked with the unique L&D sponsor’s mark, the Edinburgh Assay Office symbol (3 turrets) and the 925 stamp, guaranteeing the quality of the metals used.

In 2016 heeft Katie haar baan in Sydney opgezegd als inkoper van dameskleding voor een fast fashion retailer. Hier, aan de frontlinie van de snelle mode, zat zij aan de vele onderhandelingstafels van Shanghai tot Delhi, en kneep tot de laatste cent. Altijd aandringend op goedkoper, sneller, voor de enorme volumes die uiteindelijk hun weg naar de vuilstort zouden vinden, realiseerde Katie zich uiteindelijk dat zij hiermee deel uitmaakte van een enorm probleem. Zij veranderde koers en begon sieradenmerk Loft & Daughter, waarmee Katie wil laten zien dat je met een mode onderneming ook terug kunt geven aan mensen. 

Eerlijk geproduceerd: de sieraden worden eerlijk gemaakt in Jaipur, India. De organisatie is WFTO (Fair Trade) gecertificeerd en biedt opleidings- en werkgelegenheidskansen aan kwetsbare of ontheemde ambachtslieden. Alle items worden met de hand gemaakt met behulp van langzame, traditionele handwerktechnieken, niet in grote fabrieken.

Milieuvriendelijk: Waar mogelijk gebruikt het label gerecycled zilver, daarnaast 22kt gouden vermeil. Verder gebruikt Loft & Daughter GOTS gecertificeerd biologisch katoen met natuurlijke pigmenten. De werkplaats draait op zonne-energie. 

Vegan: de items zijn vegan.
