V de Vinster is opgericht door Virginie de Vinster. In 2006 begon ze te experimenteren met designs gemaakt van het kenmerkende Afrikaanse wax fabric.

Ze maakte er een variant op een Franse klassieker van, wat een instant succes werd en het begin was van haar merk.

Eerlijke productie: de kleding wordt gemaakt in Baskenland (Spanje).
